Louise Casey, former director of the Anti-social
Behaviour Unit at the Home Office, has been appointed by
the Government to head up the cross-Government Respect
Task Force based in the Home Office.
The Task Force is responsible for coordinating and delivering the national Respect Action Plan, which builds on the successful drive to tackle anti-social behaviour by seeking to address the deeper underlying causes of unacceptable behaviour.
Key to taking the plan forward will be;
- Challenging and supporting parents
- Addressing family issues as a whole rather than the individuals with complex problems
- Putting a stop to bullying and misbehaviour in schools
- Making public services such as police, courts and local authorities accountable and responsible to local communities.
The Respect Task Force works with cross-Whitehall delivery departments to deliver the Action Plan:
-
Department for Education and Skills
-
Department of Work and Pensions
-
Department of Health
-
Department for Culture, Media and Sport
-
Criminal Justice System for England & Wales
-
Department for Communities and Local Government
-
Home Office
-
Department for Constitutional Affairs
-
Youth Justice Board
